Event Primitive
PRES-SEAL-001 · PRESENCE Environment Kernel
Capability Definition
The Event Primitive is the immutable record layer of the PRESENCE Environment. Every action, transition, and interaction within the Environment is permanently recorded as an Event — ordered, typed, schema-validated, and protected against deletion or modification at the database level. Events are the memory of PRESENCE.
Test Result
18 of 18 tests passed. Zero failures. Verified across: registry integrity, schema validation, immutability enforcement, payload requirements, space scoping, concurrent writes, observatory reporting, and public health endpoint.
01
Architecture
Complete
Clear separation: pk_events (immutable store), pk_event_types (schema registry), event_registry.js (validated recorder). Responsibility boundary defined.

13 event types registered pk_events + pk_event_types tables
02
Interfaces
Complete
5 stable public contracts: GET/POST event-types, POST events/validated, GET events, GET observatory. Contracts versioned and tested.

POST /kernel/events/validated GET /kernel/event-types
03
Implementation
Complete
24 events recorded live. Validated recorder enforces type, payload, and space before INSERT. Sequence number confirms ordering. All concurrent writes succeed.

24 events · sequence_num enforced Concurrent write test passed
04
Security
Complete
All write endpoints require X-Presence-Token authentication. Public health endpoint is read-only with no sensitive data. requireAuth applied to 4 route handlers.

requireAuth × 4 Public: /observatory/health only
05
Observability
Complete
Observatory reports live event count, health score (95/100 HEALTHY), and Environment status. Public health endpoint available without authentication.

Health: 95/100 HEALTHY 24 events visible in Observatory
06
Testing
Complete
18 tests written and executed. All passed. Covers: registry CRUD, validation, immutability, space scoping, observatory, concurrency, error handling.

18/18 tests passed 237-line test file committed
07
Documentation
Complete
Capability Assessment 001 published. Architecture series PRES-ARCH-005 covers Event and State architecture. This Seal document is the governance record.

PRES-ARCH-005 (Event & State) PRES-SEAL-001 (this document)
08
Governance
Complete
Event types must be registered before use. Unknown types are rejected at runtime. New types added only through the registry API. Immutability enforced by DB-level rules.

no_delete_events rule no_update_events rule
09
Performance
Complete
Indexed on event_type, space_name, entity_id, recorded_at. Sequence number enforces strict ordering. All 5 concurrent writes succeeded without conflict or data loss.

4 DB indexes on pk_events Concurrency test: 5/5 passed
10
Extensibility
Complete
New event types registered dynamically without code changes. Payload requirements defined per type. Space scope can be restricted per event type. Fully backwards-compatible.

Dynamic registry via POST /kernel/event-types ASSESSMENT_001_VERIFY registered live
Seal Decision
All 10 criteria satisfied with evidence. The Event Primitive is the first capability in the PRESENCE Environment Kernel to be certified complete. The Institution now has a proven, immutable, schema-governed event record layer. Everything built on PRESENCE from this point inherits this standard.
